The Program to Stimulate Competitive Research provides funding for activities that will lead to external funding for research. Requests for proposals are typically posted in late fall for awardees to begin and complete their research within the next fiscal year.
PSIR
The Program to Stimulate Interdisciplinary Research provides funding for interdisciplinary research activities and collaborations that will lead to the establishment of a Center that will be competitive for federal agency funding. Request for pre-proposals are posted in late fall. Pre-proposals are reviewed and if a competitive pre-proposal emerges, it is selected for a full proposals to be submitted in mid-March. Selection of proposals for funding are typically made by the beginning of the next fiscal year.
